Reaching Beyond

August 3, 2009

August 3rd

Advertising: Today we find ourselves in a world of endless possibilities. The way you can interact with your clients or how you recruit your talent is much more dynamic than we could have imagined 5 or 10 years ago. In today’s world its thinking about new and creative ways to approach your talent or business.

Social Media: If you haven’t read anything about Social Media than I believe you have been living in a bubble. The other day I read that Microsoft and Nintendo are two companies who are starting to use social media on their gaming platform. They plan on linking the games to Facebook. U.S sales of game equipment and software are down 12% year to date, market research firm NPD Group Inc said full-year sales could still match or slightly exceed those of 2008, so long as the releases of some high-profile games are not delayed. Although the industry has been impacted recently from the economy the industry is still a huge outlet to reach people.

They say that 69% of American heads of households play computer and video games. This is a HUGE opportunity. What if your company had the opportunity to reach 69% of the US population? Sounds like a dream come true to most companies. Companies will start advertising through these avenues if they are not already. it’s a genius idea to reach people where they are engaged. This can not only impact how a company is seen but it also impacts a company’s employment strategy. Do you want to reach people more effectively than before? Are you looking to get your name out and be recognized as a leader in your industry? Then of course this is a great idea. I’m curious to see how companies will stage their image on these games but I’m sure it will be really interesting.
